Art New Year Pool Party 2023, saturated with exuberant hues and vibrancy, is happening at Metadee Concept Hotel on 2022 New Year’s Eve. The hotel, which officially rebranded and launched in early 2022, is located in the heart of the buzzing Kata district, boasting a spectacular 800 meters-long pool encapsulated in a verdant landscape.

Concept and design, as the name alludes, play an indiscriminately vital role in the operation of the establishment. Two concepts are conceived within the hotel: Metadee Villa is the more traditional, serene, and verdantly lush concept with fine canopy beds and wooden décor for guests seeking a tranquil oasis away from the busy world outside. Metadee Elite is a modern, colorful, and art-centric concept with clean aesthetics and spacious rooms for those who desire a stylish and active contemporary lifestyle.

The event “Art New Year Pool Party 2023” and the exhibition “An Artist’s City” is held in combination to celebrate the forthcoming year in bedazzling extravaganza. With the confluence of invigorating music from a DJ lineup of Phuket’s DJ stars, Groove and Trainwidewalker, and the gastronomy of an international buffet displaying artisanal finesse, the event is sure to thrill the audience.

The autonomous exhibition is curated by Metadee Concept Art (MCA), an artistic team funded by Metadee Concept hotel for creative and art-centric events. “An Artist’s City” marks its pilot event. The exhibition displays works from 13 multi-disciplinary international and local artists with extremely diverse profiles, from influential artists exhibiting works at Thailand’s Biennale festivals (of different years) to local environmental activists. Like the distinct character of each artist, the artworks also range extensively, including traditional mediums of representative photography, reconfigured bodies on canvas, and shattering shards of light as animated images and NFT, each conveying a heavy nuance of their imagined world. The curation of the art pieces and the intentional usage of illumination are inspired by the contemporary yet futuristic tone of the artworks, all with deliberation to immersive qualities. Everything becomes bridged together by the night light, linking each creator’s realms with a colorful glow to reveal ‘An Artist’s City’.
